I'm done...

Yep, that's it. I've held back from writing here all week, but I'm officially done being pissed off about the Sox's inability to pitch and win the AL Central. So, fuck 'em. Yesterday, 8 runs; today, 6 runs. And they lose both games. Could have taken first place today; lose the game almost the instant the Twins' score is announced.

Fucking bastards.

With my bro out of town, I have tickets for Monday's potential makeup game against the Tigers, and for the first home game of the playoffs for the Sox. I'll go to the Tigers game, if it even happens, but I'm certainly not going to be one iota surprised if (a) it even gets to that point, or (b) they lose and fall out of the playoffs.

They've had a magnificent season -- one that no one believed they could have. And they've ruined the whole damned thing. Which means now I have to turn to the Bears for my solace, and we all know that's not going to console me much at all.

First butterflies, now, a hummingbird!

I can't believe it, but I actually saw, yesterday, a hummingbird in my yard, hovering around my butterfly bush for a brief second before it realized I was in the yard and zipped away.

It startled me somewhat, as it flew up to the flower and hovered for a second, then flew away. But I said, "Whoa, what's that?" then realized it was a hummingbird right after it had zipped away.

Unbelievable. I had a hummingbird feeder hanging on my tree at my parents' house in the city when I was growing up and never saw one. So, although I'm a little "further out" than my parents, I'm still in the city, and thus was surprised. I wonder if it was migrating for the winter, or what? Maybe a bird expert reading this might know? :)

Anyway, that was great...and makes me feel awesome to know that, in some way, my garden is helping nature, even if it's a little bit.

Thankfully...

...the Sox won today, especially since the Twins also won. So, here we go, Tuesday-Thursday, the Sox get to prove that they belong here, after showing, at times this year, that they don't. Or at least proving to few that they don't belong. Although he's absolutely right, I don't like hearing Ozzie Guillen say to the media, "It's nice to go into this with a cushion." Makes me worried a little bit that they'll be "satisfied" walking away with 1 out of 3 or 2 out of 3.

They can't sit and think for a second that this is it, unless they sweep (meaning they clinch the division, since the magic number is 5). Because, honestly, I'm not comfy going into the Indians series that follows not having clinched. The Indians are hot; and the Twins, I believe, play K.C.

So, boys, let's sweep and get it over and done. Yeah...

That's it for now...

Well, there goes that...

(ANOTHER POST??? What's gotten into Andy?)

So much for my personal "best-kept secret"...too bad they didn't go beyond Washington Island to the "deserted" Rock Island. Or, too good...at least I'll still have that. :)

That said, I haven't visited all of the places they'd mentioned in the article...so there's always more to see and do.
