Not much to say today. Except that I think I want to leave early and start on my yardwork--spec out my garden area and all and maybe start digging it up. I called Home Depot, and they're not renting rototillers yet, since they say the ground is still frozen. So I'll have to make do with my Garden Weasel. That'll be a lot of work, but it will be good exercise anyway. I have to chop down and dig up all the weeds first anyway. But we'll see how traffic goes and if I'm feeling motivated.

Well, we didn't go back to Coyote Ugly, because me and Luis were pretty tired. Plus, I have no money to spend there this quickly.
So I just sat around the house and watched crap on TV all night. When I didn't watch crap on TV, I worked on my preliminary work on my family's future Web site. I'm going to go to bed really soon too, so I can get a really good night's sleep for a change.
Otherwise, that's about all on this end for now. Can't wait for it to get nice and warm on Saturday. I'm itching to get outside and do something garden-wise.
The Flower and Garden Show was cool, but for whatever reason, I think I expected more--though I wasn't disappointed at all. The gardens were pretty nice, but the problem was that there didn't seem to be as much variety in terms of plants throughout the show. It seemed as though I kept seeing the same plants over and over in different gardens. Basically, I took a ton of pamphlets from displays like the Midewin Tallgrass Prairie (down near Joliet) and the Audubon Society...stuff I can't buy, but can visit or maybe volunteer or something. I badly want to go to the Midewin Prairie now (though I've wanted to go since NU, when I learned about it in my "Green Chicago" class). I did see two plants I really want to get for my own garden if I can find them in stores, and me and Luis went to a seminar on herbs. I may plant a handful of those in my veggie garden, if there's space. And I at least want to plant a Pineapple Sage plant...they look good and apparently taste like pineapples...
Then, later, we decided to reaffirm our heterosexual preference and went to check out the new bar, Coyote Ugly (yes, like the movie). It was pretty cool, though quite expensive. It's cool enough that we're taking Luis's cousin there tonight for a little while because he was unable to go yesterday. It was a lot of fun too, and I'm kind of hurting today because of it. Overall, the bar is very nice and airy--lots of space--and it looks like half of it will have a removable roof in the summer time. The bartenders were cool, but the best part was when a bunch of them got up on the bar and danced to one of my all-time favorite songs, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." It was kind of a mix between a cheerleader routine/Ed Debevic's thing. And it was cool to have that song just BLASTING out of the speakers throughout the place. I felt like I could run through a brick wall after that song. :)
All in all, it was a good time, but probably too expensive to make a regular visit out of...but who knows? We'll see, I guess...

So it's set that I'm going to the Flower and Garden Show tomorrow with Luis...should be cool. :) A good precursor to this weekend, when it's supposed to be near 60 degrees. Hopefully I'll be able to get out and tend my gardens one of the days of the weekend...I can get a jump on things--plus, I need to start the vegetable garden area from scratch practically. So I'll have to till up the weeds and stuff and go from there. So there's plenty to do outside (as well as inside, where I need to set up the shoplight top of my table thing). Then I can start broccoli and carrots already.
Ah well, that's enough for now...
Well, I kind of just bummed around tonight, once I got home from work around 8:30 or so...slept until I had to leave, around 11:30 am. So I basically didn't get anything done around here. But that's OK...that's what Sundays are really for anyway. So now, I find out I've got to work tomorrow and I'll actually have Tuesday off. Well, whatever, so long as I get that day...Luis is talking about going to the Flower and Garden Show Tuesday during the day, which, honestly sounds like a great idea. Luis is into the gardening stuff too (though I've known him for nearly 20 years, I've never known that), but I think it's because I've stirred the garden thumb in him with my projects. Of course, his parents' house's yard is much, much smaller than the gardening "easel" I get to work with.
My plan is to get this table done and broccoli and carrots started on it by the end of next weekend. I look at this table, and I don't want to build an attachment on top for the light, because it looks so good and solid right now that I keep thinking that will ruin it. So I might try to come up with making the light thing an attachment or something that's easy to remove in case I need a small table. But we'll see.
Ah well...off to bed now. I have an 8:30am radio show that I'm not really looking forward to, not because they will wake me up, but because I don't feel as prepared as I should. Oh well, they aren't paying me, so I'll wing it. Heh...
