Saw "In Good Company" last night; thanks SBC for the free passes! :)

It was a good movie. I was glad I saw it, because I wanted to from Day One. Sure, it had its stupid moments, as many movies do, but the story was pretty good, and the ending was good too. Topher Grace did a nice job too, which I was pleased to see. And, the work situation of the company involved had some parallels to my current work situation--and that was funny to me. I was laughing at stuff no one else in the theater was because of the mirrors to my work situation (not bad, just funny)--I don't want to blow anything in the movie, so I'll spare details. :)

So, yeah, go and see it...it's actually worth it.

Tonight, Kim!

That's all I have to say about that. :)

I have to go get a haircut and get my car's tire fixed now though, so I'm off. Have a good rest of the weekend, everyone!

I shouldn't even lend a link to it, but this completely proves that this side of town is completely, utterly ridiculous, stupid and hopeless. Further reaffirming that I truly don't belong up here. And that's being nice...

1. This is so beyond gross. Why would anyone even think about eating the dissolved remains of a baseball? Or any sports gear, for that matter?
2. This is so beyond anything comprehensible. Why would anyone, even if "it's fun to be silly" about something like this, feel the need to go to the restaurant and eat part of the Bartman ball?
3. This is so beyond reality. I'm sure there are Cub fans out there who will do it actually thinking that it will somehow magically help the Cubs get rid of the curse or whatever bullcrap they're calling it now. If they want to eat something causing the curse, maybe they should eat Billy the Goat or the Black Cat of '69 (or whenever...I don't really care...).

Now that the Red Sox have won the World Series and stupid Red Sox fans have NOTHING to complain about ANYMORE, I actually hope the Cubs win soon, believe it or not, just so this ridiculousness stops. I can deal with the euphoria of Cubs fans for a year in return for them to just shut the hell up already and stop being stupid.

Now, as a sports fan, I can understand exploding the ball as a spectacle. Silly, but fun. Ha, ha. OK, I can live with that. (Hell, White Sox fans would have probably done the same.) But who at Harry Caray's actually thought and suggested, "Hey, I've always wanted to try eating a baseball, so why don't we allow fans to EAT the ball?" WTF?

I mean, it doesn't even fit any cliches...blowing up the cause of this perceived curse? OK...makes sense, in a public-relations move kind of way. But, EATING the curse? DIGESTING the curse? Where's the connection? How does this work?

Besides, if any piece of equipment should be blown up and eaten, it's Alex Gonzalez's glove.

Yesterday was my brother's birthday...we realized the other day that he'll be 21 for my wedding and Tim's wedding...for my wedding, he'll have been 21 only three months or so. Interesting. Whatever...

Speaking of weddings (when haven't I last?)...Gina and I went to a wedding for two friends of hers yesterday. It was cool. The DJ played a lot of 90s dance-type music, though I was a little depressed that Heavy D & the Boys did not make it into his playlist. :) But, he did play a good handful of stuff that you don't typically hear at weddings...at least not yet, anyway.

Their reception was at Elmcrest, and it was good, but I'm glad that we didn't wait to look at it. It wasn't for us...the food indeed was great, but the room would have been just as small as the one we "rejected" at Meridian, and the layout is not very good--to the point where you can't really see the head table much from some tables. But, like I said, it was cool and fun, just not for us. :)

Otherwise, I moved some things around in the 2nd bedroom...what fun. I also went and exchanged our squealing showerhead and got a nicer new one, that came with one of those shower wands, which came in quite handy for washing the dog, which I also did today. I'm hoping that this showerhead does not squeal. It better not.

Finally, today...I have the Grammy's on in the background here (saw the UrbanTherapy update far too late this evening--try, minutes ago--dammit!), and I just wanted to say that I believe, personally, Kanye West's acceptance speech was the best acceptance speech in recent memory, anyway. So, that begs the question...maybe a tough one...What is your favorite all-time acceptance speech (can be award, election, whatever)?

(Add.: Anyone who brings up what's his face's "never give up..." ESPY speech as their favorite gets a kick in the head from me...)
