Let the fun posts continue! :)

Kazak has hookworm.
He took some medicine.
He'll take more in three weeks.
I have a temporary silver tooth.
I'll have the real crown in three weeks.
And tomorrow I'm off to Florida.
It's warm there.

I'm currently marginally bored, so I'm playing my music on my CPU on Windows MP, but I'm playing all the music at 1.4x faster. It's cool, because it's not like you would have done years and years ago with the record player, making all the voices sound higher pitched. The notes and voices are staying the same...the CPU is just compensating and making it faster, probably by skipping milliseconds of music, or something. I don't know.

Anyway, I have to say, it's amazing how different a song can sound just by upping the speed ever so slightly...some are hilarious, and some are hilariously good. And, it's funny how just about every song of moderate to slow pace sounds like a house/techno song when upped to 2x the speed. :) My favorites so far?

California Love by Dre/Tupac
Black by Pearl Jam (sounds cooler at 2x)
Paranoid by Garbage
Super Bon Bon by Soul Coughing
Outshined by Soundgarden

Although it strangely makes Soundgarden's "Girl U Want" Devo cover sound, frighteningly, like Devo, but with guitars instead of keytars. Eek.

Also, "Chop Suey" by System of a Down is purely hilariours at 2x. Can't....stop....laughing...

Enough for now...I may not be able to post from Ft. Lauderdale, but we shall see...I'll do what I can. Besides, there's sun, warmth and beach...why would I log onto the Internet? :)

Well, so much for comfort... :)

Tomorrow I have to get up and take Kazak to the vet, since I discovered that he has some kind of intestinal worms. Beautiful. Hopefully the medicine isn't too costly. Overall, it's pretty generally "gross," since I pick up after him outside. Of course, I guess it's a good thing I do, because if I didn't, I probably wouldn't have noticed the symptoms. So, good for that, I guess.

Then, at noon, I have a dentist appointment to prep the tooth that broke last week for a crown. I'll get a temporary cap tomorrow, and then the crown at the end of the month. Because my dental insurance is (in the words of the receptionist) "the worst" out there, this won't be cheap at all.

So that's what'll be keeping me busy tomorrow...then we're heading up to Vernon Hills for dinner with my bro and Gina's cousin, so that should be cool.

For now, I'm probably going to go to bed, because I'm kind of tired.

I blew through about 12 pages of a 15-page story today, so my brain is a little bit zapped, a little bit wired. Kind of a combination, which is always a strange feeling.

I got a Pillsbury Dough Boy Beanbag (beanie baby) at this conference I was at. And I was pretty shameless in asking for it, journalistic integrity be damned. Otherwise, the conference was pretty OK...not boring, because I didn't have to go to any of the technical stuff though, which is good.

I'll get enough of that this weekend in Florida (again!). This time, it's off to Ft. Lauderdale for S N A X P O, which is spelled just like that, except without the spaces, of course. Should be a good time, if only because now I know a few of the folks in the industry, so it'll be nice to say hello to people I actually know, ya know? Maybe I'll get some nice dinners out of it too, who knows? :)

At any rate, it'll be nice to head to Fla. Of course, I got a sore throat yesterday and have a marginally stuffy head going right now, but I have a couple of days to get it cleared up. Sudafed, here I come!

Happy last-minute birthday Laz...

Dave & Buster's was fun, and I bet bowling was a blast...I wouldn't know ;P...whatever.

At any rate, all I wanted to say was happy birthday Laz. :) I'm too tired now to say more.
