OK, Dad's home today, and he's in great spirits. Went to visit this evening and he sounded and was feeling a whole lot better. He'll be pretty much confined to the house for a while though...so I'm sure that good mood won't last too long. :)

Partially, too, he's in such a good mood because the hospital was just terrible -- bunch of morons. More than usual.

So, just giving you the grand ol' update. I'm off to Utah (of all places) for a conference for a few days on Sunday...not that it's like this place has been a hotbed of activity, right? :)

OK...have an update on my Dad, for anyone reading who might care... :)

Dad had the surgery yesterday to remove the ol' prostate (or prostrate, as he keeps calling it). It went well, no complications (yet), and they checked out the area around it while they had him opened up and found no signs of the cancer having spread to adjacent lymph nodes or anything around there. He was groggy and half-awake when I left the hospital in the afternoon.

Today, he sounds a lot better (over the phone) and they actually fed him some liquid diet stuff, so that's good. He could, realistically, be home Thursday or Friday, which is nice. But then it's a long recovery, as abdomenal surgery would appear to be.

So, just giving you all an update there...he's doing well, from what I know, and that's where we're at.

A.J. has begun rolling from his back to his side on his own in the last half week or so...but only to his left. (Funny, Daddy could never go to his left, so that's good, I guess...)

He's done it on his playmat, and in his bassinette this morning, I found him like this after Gina went to take a shower.

This picture is from this evening in his pack 'n' play. I put the camera away to let the dog out and found out that for the second time in about three hours he rolled from this on to his stomach. Is this "supposed to happen" at three months? He did it earlier on his playmat (I didn't see it, Gina did), and I chalked it up to a lucky roll. Gina saw the second time in the pack 'n' play too and said he then rolled back onto his back from his stomach by himself too.

Of course, Gina's now freaked out about it because of the possibility of him suffocating himself. Even though (I don't have a dedicated picture of it) he now prefers to be held up on a shoulder because he can hold his head up and still and look around. So his strength is really on the up and up this past couple of weeks. It's so interesting! :)
