The White Sox being swept by the Yankees and their poor start to the second half pisses me off, but I can't say I'm truly "worried" yet. Consider that, last year, they lost 8 of 9 or something like that in mid-August to the Red Sox, Twins and Yankees, and still managed to win the division and all that. Granted, they WERE in first place then, as opposed to now. Also, take into consideration that, even though they're in second place behind the Tigers, who obviously are for real, they still have the second-best record in baseball at the moment.
The Sox have 13 games left over the course of the year against the Tigers, starting tomorrow. If they can handle Detroit in those games, maybe it will dishearten Leyland's boys and get them into some sort of funk. We really need Detroit to go into a funk, because, despite our recent pitching issues, the Sox have been playing good ball overall all season (that whole second-best record thing).
So we'll see...again, not pleased with the recent pitching issues, but not "worried" yet. I just hope Kenny Williams isn't "worrying" either and doesn't make a drastically odd move.
