If the White Sox are going to save any kind of face and remain competitive after this so-far miserable season, Buehrle needed to be re-signed. Now, they can build around Buehrle, Garland, Konerko and Fields.

I just wish they'd flat-out CUT Jose Contreras already. We couldn't get a bag of donuts for him at this point, and he's just been TERRIBLE. Meanwhile, all bets are off...trade whoever else you want, in my opinion. As long as they abandon the "fireballers are great pitchers" mentality. That worked really well this year, as everyone can see...particularly in the bullpen.
