I'm home...but only for about 12 more hours. Then I'm off to Baltimore and driving up to Hanover, Pa. It's a whirlwind tour, baby.

Canton was, well, wholly not that impressive. It was OK, and it would have been better had I been better informed (again) by the hotel's tourist magazine offerings, but I made do. I would have to say that this was probably the "worst" hotel I've stayed at so far in my business travels since starting my current job. Here's why:

The indoor pool was pretty sweet. Was kinda excited about that, until I saw that the bottom was metal (not a problem) and had rust spots here and there. Doesn't make me feel too comfy about the cleanliness of the thing.

When I got back to my room yesterday, although I had left my dirty towels (three), I was not left any new clean ones. So, on Friday and early today, I had to live with one towel (again, not a big deal, but it's nice at a hotel to use a couple towels, just b/c they're there--plus, it's the little things--replace the towels, for pete's sake). Finally, today, I woke up and all day long, i've noticed that I have a rash on the back of my neck. Don't know what this is from...it's just an irritation more than anything right now. But this is the first time this has happened. So I don't know what's up with that. Plus, the hotel was short-staffed and one of the ladies at the front desk wasn't very helpful at all when I was looking for somewhere to eat yesterday. Oh well...hopefully Hanover/Baltimore (one night in each) will be better.

I'm in Canton. Yay. There is also a business center in the hotel. Yay. But now i have to iron some shirts. Not yay. So I leave you with this bit of entertainment. Complete this song line, in any way you'd like:

"What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you..."

Interactivity rocks.

Well, Monday-Wednesday was pretty busy at work...finishing the current issue of the magazine and then straightening out and preparing for my back-to-back trips to the Canton area and southern Pennsylvania this weekend.

Tomorrow, it's off to Canton. Back on Saturday night (after visiting, for the first time, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, assuming I have money available). Then, leaving Sunday morning for Baltimore to drive to southern Pennsylvania, returning on Tuesday. Should be a bunch of fun travel...thankfully, the weather isn't expected to be 1/8th the storminess of last weekend.

So, expect silence from me for the next near-week, unless the hotels have business centers with free Internet access.

Also, thankfully the Super Bowl is not this weekend either, lest I be pissed. :)

And it begins...soon, anyway.

I created a "budget" file for wedding budgeting and keeping track of expenses and whatnot. I came up with, oh, 30 things we'll need to pay for. Not daunting or anything like that, but interesting to see, anyway.

In the next couple of days, before I go on my business trips, we have to talk to the parents to see what they're giving us for this wedding...then we can gauge what we can afford and set up target prices, if you will, for different things.

Since we have the church, finding the hall will be the next thing. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions--it has given us a list to look at already, to go with the handful of places we wanted to look at to begin with. Of course, we probably won't be able to look at those places until I get back, since we'll have to look at budget and what we can afford as far as guests go before approaching these halls.

Otherwise, Laz's place for the NFL championships was fun...thanks Laz! :)

Friday night we went to Sabatino's, which got great reviews from all of us...

And really, I didn't do too much on Saturday, because of the snowstorm. But I needed a restful weekend, so that was good.
