Well, I sucked it up and finally made a decision and bought a freakin' camera...I kept looking and looking for some sort of negative deal-sealer factoid against Nikon D40s or Canon XTs and could find NOTHING that would have prevented me from buying either. The only negatives I read about I could relatively live with.
So, God bless Costco for having a great deal online--I am able to get the Nikon D40, the basic 18-55mm lens and the 50-200mm Image Stabilization lens and a 2GB memory card for a pretty solid deal, compared to some of the other stores out there. I'm supposed to get it on Wednesday, so I'm patiently waiting. :)
Otherwise, I've just been working hard at work and trying to put the finishing touches on things around here before the baby comes. Really, there hasn't been a whole lot going on otherwise.
I am proud of myself, though, as I've been going to the gym regularly, and running on the treadmill regularly. Today, I jogged a full 2.5 miles (at 5 mph) without slowing down or anything. I typically run at 6mph, and the furthest I'd gone at that speed was about 1.25 miles.
Yet, it's funny, because I've still lost only 10 pounds since starting the ol' Weight Watchers back in the fall. I guess this is going to be my standard weight--I must be replacing fat with muscle. That's good, but unless I starve myself, I'm probably not going to get much lower than I am. And I'm not in the business of starving myself. I'm in the business of being healthier, which, by far, I am. So kudos to me. Even if no one else could care less. ;)
