Winter is fast approaching (snowflakes predicted for tomorrow, already!), and that means it's time for another home improvement project around here. I'll even take pictures, maybe, stealing from some of the home improvement blogs I've seen out there...before, during and after photos. A good documentation of the process.

Of course, the nice thing about this project is, we can "take our time" on it. We're remodeling the half bath (powder room). Today I went out and bought myself a power sander and power detailing sander, because I'm going to try to salvage the vanity in the bathroom by stripping it down and refinishing it. If it works, it'll save us some money...if it doesn't, we'll just buy a vanity. Either way, we need a new sink and faucet setup in there, so hey.

We'll also be replacing the toilet (mismatched seat and cover and all), painting the top half of the walls, tiling the bottom half and replacing the tile floor. Since we have a full bath and we're not in a hurry (as of now, at least), we can do this ourselves at our own pace. And that's good. I toyed with hiring someone, but there's no rush on this, so, hey...with the right tools, this should be doable. We don't have to move or install new plumbing, so the hardest part may be the tiling.

But I guess we (and you, via the blog) will find out soon enough!
