Side note: Anyone know a reputable, though not super-expensive moving company? Email me if you do...I might go the movers route for this one, rather than "recruit" and "bribe" with the promise of pizza. We have heavier stuff than ever before. ;)
Anyway...
You know, house-hunting is INSANE.
So I said, "I WIN," right? Well, that was a bit premature. You'd be amazed at how much things can change in a couple days. In short:
--I WIN.
--What?! They won't let us have a home inspection?
--Oh, they don't want us to dock them for repairs at this price?
--OK, we'll add a thing to the contract saying we won't change the price?
--What?! They won't sign THAT contact either?
--Fuck them, we're moving on. See you in six months, when you're still on the market.
--What, Mr. Realtor? You stayed up all night thinking about how this was wrong?
--So we should take to our laywer and find out what's what?
--Oh, so it's OK to add an "as is" rider to the contract, but we can still back out if the home inspection reveals major problems?
--Let's do it. We're comfortable with that.
--What?! Now they're saying to just rewrite the offer sheet with the new price and they'll sign it?
--OK. So we've come full circle...to the basic, standard contract. Great waste of time.
Suffice to say, they've still not signed/initialed the new contract. So I'm not saying anything until I SEE that signed contract and we have the home inspection tomorrow.
Hopefully all will go well with it, and we can take this house away from these people...they don't deserve it. Their realtor is either stupid or insane. And they're in the freakin' clouds with their assessment of this property's value.
So they don't deserve it. And we do. :)
