Well, I decided, enough is enough...
I joined Weight Watchers minutes ago.
Why? Not because I'm FAT. Not because I'm more unhealthy than I ever been.
No, I joined WW because I'm tired of flirting with weighing a full 2 bills. I've not gone over 200 on the scale yet (nekkid--I'm a former wrestler, and that's the only way to weigh yourself), and I'm not going to see that.
I was surprised...it's not that expensive, really...like, $60 for the first three months, and then like $17 a month after that. If I lose two pounds per week like they say is normal, I won't even need to go past three months.
I'm at 195 pounds. I want to get down to around 170-175. I'm not in a "hurry" for any reason. I'm not under any pressure at all to do this. So I think that, given the proper discipline by me, this should be very much feasible. I have 28 points per day to use, which is good, because, based on what I ate for dinner tonight, I'd have about 10 points or so to split between the other two meals and any snacks I might have. So this should limit me nicely--by limit I mean make me make better portion control and menu choices.
I'm "excited"...about as excited as I can get.
If I can get my food intake under control, then I'll have more motivation and reason to really push into exercising on a routine basis once softball ends later this year. And that'll be nothing but good for me. That's for sure.
I'm not announcing this for any reason other than to put it here as a matter of record. Don't feel as though you have to say, "Wow, that Weight Watchers IS working for you, isn't it?" Because that's not what I'm doing this for. I'm doing it for my own health. And, probably, 20 pounds isn't going to be immensely noticeable on me...it's not like I walk around wearing tight clothes or something. :)
That said, don't buy me 14 beers at the bar. :) That's like, 28 points.
